A story from my childhood
My sisters and I got a gift from my Dad’s new in-laws, our step-grandparents. We didn’t send a thank you to them. I was too young to realize how important it is to express gratitude and acknowledge receiving a gift. They were so upset by this that they vowed never to send us gifts again. They did not respond to the situation in the best way. Looking back, I see why they were offended. I understand the importance of a thank you.
We just wrapped up the holiday season filled with gift giving and hosting.
If you received gifts or acts of kindness, be sure to express your gratitude. You can still send a text, make a call, or mail a card to convey your appreciation.
I know that I truly appreciate hearing a simple thank you.
