Is it possible to celebrate every day?

#CelebrateEveryDay is one of the hashtags I use on most of my posts. This reflects my belief that there is something special to appreciate in every single day. I try to find a national holiday to celebrate every day, from widely recognized holidays to the obscure national days. By highlighting these occasions on my social media. I hope to inspire others to join in on the celebration. I want to encourage everyone to cherish the little moments that bring joy to our lives.

But what do you celebrate when you don’t feel like celebrating?

I think that a lot depends on what I mean by “celebrate” every day. I can apply one of the synonyms for celebrate to most days. There are many moments that deserve recognition and appreciation. Most of the time life is filled with opportunities to acknowledge joy.

Then there are those days… the ones where I struggle to see anything worth celebrating. We all face times in life when challenges seem overwhelming. It feels like a dump truck of problems backs up and unloads. In the hard times, I think it is all the more important to look for something worth celebrating. Not by throwing a party or jumping up and down with joy. Instead, find something that you are thankful for and celebrate that. It can be as simple as an unusual national holiday. It also could be the person or pet who is always there for you. Some days, I will admit I have to search hard to find my celebration. However, if I purpose to do it, I CAN always find something.

So how do you celebrate when you don’t want to? I think the answer is you just choose to.
